The pulse of the culture. The business of the game.
Hip Hop Insiders is where the culture's news, numbers and next-up talent meet. We cover the music, track what's really moving, and give artists, fans and promoters one place to connect.
Who we are
Hip-hop is more than music. It's the most dominant cultural and economic force on the planet, and it deserves coverage that takes it seriously. In an era of viral moments and clickbait, Hip Hop Insiders gives you the unfiltered inside look at the forces shaping the genre: the records, the deals, the moves and the people behind them.
We report the news straight, back our charts with real data, and keep the focus on the artists who make the culture what it is, from the legends to the ones still coming up.

The voice behind Beyond the Beats
Leo is a hip-hop head through and through. Headphones on, eyes closed, he disappears into the beat and the bars, and his imagination opens onto a world of graffiti-covered streets, turntables and boomboxes.
His name honors August, the month hip-hop was born. Every day he writes about the music, the artists and the moments that move the culture, and the worlds the music opens in his mind inspire future storytelling from On the Rise Entertainment.
Receipts, not opinions
Our weekly charts rank the songs, albums and artists actually moving right now, using public streaming and sales data and one formula that's printed under every chart. New numbers every Friday.
